MoI to Hold Mega Eid Events for Communities

Doha : The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Community Policing Department will be organizing ‘Communities Eid Al Fitr 2016 Celebrations’ on first and second days of Eid Al Fitr on a stage specially arranged near  Asian Town cricket stadium in Doha Industrial Area for Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Korean communities and on first day of Eid at Al Wakra Sports Club for Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities. The performances of Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Korean communities and musical band will be held at Asian Town on first and second days of Eid Al Fitr from 5 pm and will continue until 11 pm. During the event, the workers will be given chance to showcase their talents in singing and dancing on the stage. The shows and performances of musical bands will be another main attraction of the event in each venue. Representing the Indian community, teams of communities organizations registered under Indian Cultural Center  such as Sanskriti Qatar, Thirumuttam, Vishwakalavedi and Banghya Parishat will be performing various cultural and traditional dances and shows. In addition to this,  the Skills Development Center’s team will take part in the event by showcasing Arabic dance and Indian folk dance along with performance of SDC Music Club. On behalf of Sri Lankan community in Qatar, the Sri Lankan Coordination Committee will participate in the celebration by presenting songs, drams,  Sri Lankan folk dances while the Korean community will participate by a Korean DJ music show on first day of Eid. The Nepalese community will take part in the celebration through Non Residents Nepalese Association (NRNA) by performing songs, group dances and folk and traditional shows presented by Khatang samaj, Magar samaj, Bishwakarma samaj and Fewa Cultural Family. The Eid Cultural Celebration of Pakistani community will be held in football stadium of Wakra Sports Club from 6 pm on first day of Eid  in which the Pakistani famous artists such as Khalid Malak, Hashmat Sahar, Gul Nawaz, Zardad Bulbul, Khalidah Yasmin, Nadiya Gul, Radmi and Mina Gul will be performing. The celebration of Bangladeshi community will be held at Indoor football stadium of Wakra Sports Club from at 6 pm on first day of Eid with a speech on Ramadan and Eid following several Islamic songs till Magrib prayer call. After Magrib, the cultural program will start with Eid song by all performers. After that, the participating local Musical groups Srabon, Chironton Baul, Probashi Baul, Bongabondhu Shanskritik Jote, Aotopar, Community childrens  Dance group and Comedy troupe shall showcase their performances in Sequence. To boost the presence of the audiences there will be an special episode when audiences shall take part in singing and dancing competition to win many fabulous prizes. In Al Khor Industrial Area, targeting the employees of companies the their families as well as the workers along with general public,  the Barwa Group in coordination with Ministry of Interior will be organizing two days Eid Al Fitr celebrations from 5.30 pm at Barwa Workers Sports Complex. The Ministry of Interior invites all community members including employees of the companies and their families and the workers to join in the ‘Communities Eid Al Fitr 2016 Celebrations’ in Doha Industrial area, Wakra Sports Club and Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor Industrial Area as the entry to the program is completely free and the audience will be getting prizes through raffle draw. There will be separate area for families in each venue. The program is supported by Qatar Rail as diamond sponsor, QDVC and Joannou & Paraskevaides as main sponsors, Al Muftah group and Rotana group, Al Marai and Team Time as associate sponsors. The venue sponsor of the event is Asian Town and Ibn Ajyan projects.
